Freak the Mighty

   There are many books out there that are very interesting but there is one book that blows your mind away like leaves would on a windy day. The book that is very interesting is Freak the Mighty. There are many reasons that this book is amazing but some are very important that you can only get out of this book.

   I liked this book for many reasons but one really stands out. The one reason that makes me love this book so much is how Freak and Max are like best friends and they do everything together. For example, on the first day they met  they were little  and they probably didn`t talk that much. Then a few years later Freak moved in next to Max and Max ran inside the house when Freak caught him watching what he was doing. If it wasn`t for the kid that played "bowling with Freak and they blamed it on Max then the two of them wouldn't `t have gotten to know each other so well and Max would have never been able to learn how to read a book because Freak as the one who taught him how to start to read just so Max was able to move up to eighth so he could be with Freak.

  There were many characters in this book that are very important but there is one that brought the whole book together. This one person made everything come together and help Max get through hard times with family issues and also with Max`s learning disabilities. This persons name is Kevin. He was able to help Max when his father was hurting him and Loretta. He was also able to teach Max how to read. If it wasn`t or Freak then Max wouldn`t have been able to make friends and he wouldn`t have been able to stand up to Tony D. and his gang. 

  There were many sad and funny events in this story that can happen in real life. For example, when Freak died at a young age his family and friends were very devastated just like in real life a when a child dies at a young age it is a unexpected tragedy. Also, in real life you  can have many friends that come and go but the one true friend you will always stick together and be a team just like Freak and Max did. Through ups and downs they were always friends and no one was going to be able to break them apart because they were a team called Freak the Mighty.

   

   Who wouldn`t want to read this book. It is amazing. That is why if you were my friend I would recommend it to you. There are many things that Freak and Max do that relate to my friends and I like they go on fun and exciting adventure and also how they are also sticking together like a team. My friends would also enjoy this book because it sometimes explains how they are always together and they can`t live without each other just like my friends and I almost feel like the other half of us is missing when we are not together.

How to Paint Your Nails

   If you have never painted your nails then you are obviously out of style. If you have, then you know what to do. This post is specifically for people that have no experience in painting nails or someone that needs to freshen up his or her memory on how to do it. There are only a few simple steps to painting your nails and here they are.
  Before you start to paint your nails, you will need to get a few simple materials. You will need  to get a bottle of nail polish preferably Sally Hansen brand. You will also need paper towels, cotton balls, and  nail polish remover so you can get all the dirt and old nail polish  and a clean work space. Your work space should be able to fit both of your hands and have a little extra space.
   First, you will put some paper towels down on your work space so the nail polish products do not get on your work space and ruin your desk or table. Then, you will take the nail polish remover and put some on a cotton ball. You then will put it all over your nails so all the old dirt and nail polish can come off in an easy way. Next, you will put the nail polish on your nail. You want to start from your cuticle ( the bottom part of your nail ) and work your way up to the top part of your nail. You will then repeat this for all your nails. Finally, after your nails have dried you will want to close the nail polish so it doesn`t get old and harden.
   That is all it takes Sally Hansen nail polish, cotton balls, paper towels, a clear work space, and some nail polish remover. See, painting your nails is not that hard and it only take about 30 minutes. Whether your are a girly-girl or tom boy, you can always find a color that fits your style.

Speculative Prompt

    Two friends named Tyler and Chris were on their way home from school one day. It was an ordinary school day. Nice and hot outside. There was no one else on the park`s trail but them. They were walking on one of the windiest trails when they spot something mysterious.
    Tyler said, " Hey Chris, come over here and look what I`ve found". As Chris is wondering over to Tyler he is wondering what could Tyler have found that he wants me to see it.
    " What is it," Shouted Chris. When Chris gets there all they see is this white envelope that is as thick as a book. The boys both think if they open this what will happen. They both think to them selves that if it is not theirs then they should not open or go near it.
     " What should I do ?" said the boys. Both Tyler and Chris made a risky decision. They are gonna open it. As they are walking to pick it up they are scared. When they get there and open it they are amazed to see what was in it............MONEY. When they see the money they don`t know what to do, take it or leave it. When they get the money they know it is wrong to take so they left it for a less fortionite person to come along and take it. That is why they didn`t take the money.

How To Write An Introduction

   The NJASK`s are coming very soon. This is a very big test that kids in grades 3-8 have to take in the state of NJ. During the part that you have to write an essay you want to have a good introduction. You want to have a good introduction because it is a way that you start off your esay and if you have a bad introduction then usually the person that is reaing it won`t want to read the rest of your essay. Here is an example of a good introduction.
   Dear Mr. Princapal,
This is an outrage. Studdents who can`t talk can`t work.It has been brought to my attention that you have implemented silent lunch because some students have been very roudy. This is a  disaster that should be handled differently. Don`t make the whole school suffer. Handel this situation just with the students that are not behaving. There should not be silent lunch because students need to socialize, they will not focus in lunch, and it is like their work break.
   If you want to get a very good grade on an essay you are writing then I suggest that you use this type of format to write your essay.

ten minuets added to the school day for lunch essay

   Wait what! 10 minuets added to the school day just for lunch. This sure doesn`t make sense. What student is going to want to have a longer school day just so they can get time added to lunch. 10 minuets should not be added to the school day to lengthen lunch because it will take time out of after school activities, parents will have to pick up their child later, and kids have enough time to eat lunch already.

   But what if you have after school activities. Alot of kids have other things to do after school and since you have yo go to them we can`rt 10 minutes added to the school day. For example, I get home at 3:30 everyday and I have things to do at 4:00 and if I am late I'm going to be kicked out. So 10 minuets can`t be added because I will be kicked out of my fun sports. So many kids do things after school and can`t be added to the school day. So before you do that think about what kids love to do after school.

   I`m sorry I can`t pick you up later, my boss won`t let me. That`s what a lot of parents are lately having to Say to their kids and it is devastating. Lately many job owners are being very strict and are only allowing their workers out a certain time. That time does not when the kids get out of school. If you are going to add 10 minuets to your students school day then you might need to get buses  to every house. For example, my parents work everyday. They can only leave there job at 3:00 which is when I get out of school so they can come pick me up. But if my principle adds only 10 minutes to the school day I will have no one to pick me up from school and I will have to walk home. So if you don`t want students to be walking home alone I suggest you don`t add 10 minuets to ghe school day.

   More time added to lunch this is insane. We already get 30 minuets and we defiantly don't need 40 minuets just to eat lunch. Some kids eat slow but studies say that it only takes an average kid to eat a sandwich and some chips about 10-15 minuets. For example, when I get to lunch at 11:11 I am usually done eating at 11:25 and all of the other time that we have I just sit around and do nothing. Most of the other kids do the same exact thing. So why add 10 minuets to the lunch period just so you can see your students sit around and do nothing.

How To make A Duck Tape Purse

Have you ever heard of duck tape because I know that I have.You might use it to make designs on the wall if you were going to paint it but probely  not what im gong to tell you what you can do with it.There are a variety of colors and designs not just that plain old silver and blue.If you want to learn how to make something out of duct tape then just read some more and watch the video.
    So im sure your like what is she talking out but you can make alot of things out of duct tape.You could make wallets,pocket books,backpacks and even clothes but I wouldn`t ware a duck tape shirt or shorts it would stick to your skin.If you want to know were to get this you could go to wallmart or target.I would go to wallmart because there cheeper but target has some pretty cool deigns and colors.Im sure your wondering how to make a purse so just watch the video and have fun!!!

How to bake a cupcake

   Who doesn`t love cupcakes? I hope no one. when you are in the mood for a cupcake you usually want to have and easy ingredients and steps to make you delicious treat. Most likely you would bake and eat a cupcake at night or during the day. But in order to do that you should have nice clean area to be able to have enough space and working space to bake you wonderful cupcakes. Here are a couple of short and sweet directions you need to follow to be able to enjoy your craving of a cupcake.

   Here`s what you will need to make your cupcake-

2 cups self-raising flour, sifted

3/4 cup caster sugar

3/4 cup milk

125g butter, melted, cooled

2 x 59g eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon Queen Natural Vanilla Essence

Sprinkles and lollies, to decorate

   Here`s what you will need to make your own icing-

1 1/2 cups pure icing sugar

Pink food colouring, optional

1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons water

   How to make your cupcakes and icing-

Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a 12 x 1/3-cup capacity muffin pan. Alternatively, line holes with paper cases. Combine flour and caster sugar in a bowl. Make a well in the centre.

Add milk, butter, eggs and vanilla to flour mixture. Using a large metal spoon, stir gently to combine.

Spoon mixture into prepared muffin pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Stand in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

Make icing: Sift icing sugar into a bowl. Add food colouring and water. Stir until smooth and well combined. Spoon icing over cupcakes. Decorate with sprinkles and lollies.

How To Answer An OER

   What is an OER? An OER is an open ended response that you have to do on tests that you take. When you look down at that paper with the question and then the rest of the paper is lines you think it is going to be very hard. It surely does look like a lot to do but it really is not. It can only be hard if you make it hard and say to your self that you won`t be able to finish this. On the NJASK you usually have to do 1 or 2 OER`s in 30 minuets. It is really tough to do that. The only way you will be able to finish it is if you follow these 6-7 simple steps.

1. Restate the blurb.
The blurb is not the question but the the sentence before the bullets.
2. Restate the bullet.

What you have to do for this step is simply rewrite the bullet but add for many reasons after you rewrite the bullet.

3. Answer the question.

When you answer the question be sure to give more then one reason so you can get more points.

4. Direct quote from texts that explains you answer.

You have to give a direct quote fro text so the readers can see that you weren`t making up the answers.

5. Explains how this quote proves your point.

You have to prove you quote because the reader wants to know why you chose this sentence.

6. Closing sentence.

You need a closing sentence so your paragraph doesn`t seem like it is continuing on and on.

7. Repeat with each bullet.

So if you plan on getting a 4 on a big test that you take and your OER then I suggest that you use these 7 simple pointers.

Have a Facebook or Not

   You are really lucky if you have a Facebook. Facebook is a fun place were you can talk with friends and tell everyone what you are doing. On the other hand there are bad things that can happen as well and they are not so good. If you want to try to convince your parents to let you have one then you should read both sides of my story.

  

To Have One

1. You can chat with as many friends as you want at a time.

2. You can post picture so other people can see how much fun you are having.

3. Not all of my friends have phones but they have a Facebook so I can get a hold of them that way.

To Not Have One
1. The Internet is a dangerous place.
2. Facebook causes a lot of drama.
3. You can get hurt by it from what people say or do.
  So if you want to get one show your parents the To Get One section.

What I Am Passionate About

   A lot of people say that they don`t have anything to be passionate about. But, everyone has to have something that they can say they are passionate about, they just don`t want to admit it. The true meaning of passionate is when you have strong feelings for something you do or someone you know. Usually when you are passionate about something you enjoy doing it and you work hard at it every day.

   What I am passionate about is swimming. I am passionate about swimming because I love to do it. If you really love to do it then you should probably work hard at it. When I am at swim practice I like to work hard at what we have to do in till every last second to practice. In the future if you want to be really good or awesome at what you love to do then starting from today you need to work extremely hard at it. And try to fix little errors that you make. That is what I am passionate about.

How to Make Your Own Frenchfries

Have you ever thought to yourself that french fries are way to expensive? Well I have! There is probably one night that you are going to order pizza and you want something else with it. You would most likely order some french fries. But then as soon as you turn to the appetizer page you see the worst. The PRICE. All food is really starting to get expensive. If you don`t want to spend 5 dollars on like 10 french fries then why don`t you make them yourself. It might seem a little bit hard but it is really not that hard at all. The only way that it is going to be difficult is if you make it difficult for yourself. Here what you'll need to know to make them.

You'll need 2 to 4 cups of oil depending on how many servings you are making.

Don't overcrowd your fries. Overcrowding will cause breakage and uneven cooking. To use less oil, prepare your French fries in several batches.

Ingredients

Potatoes
Vegetable Oil
Salt (optional)

Directions

*Peel and wash potatoes.
*Slice potatoes into 1/2 x 1/2 inch strips.
*Rinse or soak potato strips in water.
*Let dry (about 5 minutes)
*Drop potato strips into hot (375 degrees) Oil
*Fry until golden brown. (about 5 or 10 minutes)
*Remove from pot and drain on paper towels.

If you're using salt, sprinkle it now.

Serve immediately.

You can serve these delicious fries with anything of your choice. Remember what I said you need to eat them right away they won`t have the same flavor as they should. And then if they are not good then you are going to think that you did something wrong and most-likely you`ll never try to make them again. I hope you enjoy!!

New Year`s Resolutions -2012

   A lot of adults say they are going to accomplish there new year resolutions but they never end up doing them. The reason is well they might forget or they might not have any time to do or even think about them. If you thought that you did them you most likely didn`t. If you really want to accomplish them then you should write them down on a piece of paper and as you accomplish them you put a check next to them or cross it off the list. This year I have set 10 goals for me to accomplish.

   Goal #1

Have an A average in every class

I want to have an A average in every class so when I go on to high school I can have a good average and go to a good collage. If I do good in collage I can get a good job in the future.

   Goal # 2
Make silver swim competitions
 I want to make silver swim competitions  because then I would be able to compete in a higher level against better swimmers and I would get faster.

   Goal #3
Spend more time with my family
I want to spend to more time with my family because then we can have memories. If I spend more time with my friends we will have memories but it`s not the same as with your family.

   Goal  #4
Use my phone wisely
I need to use my phone wisely because if I don`t them I will get it taken away and I don`t want that to happen.

   Goal #5
Don`t stay up till 10:00 every night
I don`t want to stay up till 10:00 every night because if I do then I won`t be able to wake up when my alarm goes off and I could then miss my bus and be late to school.

   Goal #6
Go back to New York
I wan tot go back to New york so I can have fun with my friends and go in the MnM store and other fun stores.

   Goal #7
Do a good job in being cheerleader 
I want to do a good job in being  cheerleader because then later on in life I can be on a professional team like the Jets, or Giants.

   Goal #8
Don`t watch a lot of TV
I don`t want to watch a lot of TV because then you would just get board. I will only watch TV when I don`t have anything better to do. So I will find better things to do then watch TV.

   Goal #9
Move up to J4 in swim

I want to move up to J4 in swim because I will have harder coaches and they will get me to be a great swimmer.

   Goal #10

Don`t argue with brother

In the New Year I don`t want to argue with my brother because when I argue with my brother my mom gets upset and it`s not good.

Those are all my goals that I hope to accomplish in the new year.
